Vanuatu Golf Courses
Port Vila Country Club
When it comes to Vanuatu golf courses this would be as good as it gets. The volcanic island archipelago of the Republic of Vanuatu has several excellent Vanuatu golf courses to offer visitors who either need golf as part of their holiday or enjoy a break from the spectacular scuba diving in the South Pacific coral reefs. The top professional challenge in the country is at the Port Vila Country Club, which has hosted the Vanuatu Open, sanctioned by the PGA. This Vanuatu golf course is a short drive from the town of Port Vila overlooking Mele Bay with magnificent views of the sparkling, clear water and surrounding natural environment. The course is 5,800 metres with no motorised golf carts, but they are not missed because of the attentive and helpful caddies from Mele Village.
Bookings for golf at The Club can be made seven days a week at + (678) 22456 or by visiting firstname.lastname@example.org The host or concierge at your hotel can help you arrange a game, transportation to and from your hotel to the course as well as hire clubs. The 18-hole green fees are around VT2,500 (AUD$25) and the caddie fee will be VT1,000 (AUD$10) more. There are weekly competitions that visitors can join if they feel in the mood. The timetable for the competitions is:
⢠Tuesday at 1.00pm a 9-hole competition for women
Other Vanuatu Golf Courses:
Efate Island offers several Vanuatu golf courses including Le Lagon Resort and Spa. Their 12-hole course is situated on a hillside and has beautiful views of the resort, Erakor Lagoon and the sea.
Holiday Inn Resort and Casino has a 9-hole course surrounded by landscaped gardens on the waterâs edge. Some of the holes play across the lagoon to a small peninsula. Both of these resorts hire clubs as well as motorised golf carts.
Luganville, Vanuatuâs Second City on Espiritu Santo
The Santo Golf Course that overlooks Palekulo Bay and Ambae Island has a 9-hole course. It is a good destination for families because there is a place on the beach in front of the club house where people can swim and snorkel. On the last Saturday of every month, there is a golf tournament that begins at 9am. A barbecue lunch follows the game. This is the only time the club house has staff, so those who wish to play at other times need to inquire at their hotel reception desk.
